Return of the Pod
After a few weeks off the My Old Man Said podcast is back to once again offer up the most irreverent claret and blue discussion in town. Failing laptops, faulty microphones and busy personal lives have conspired to interrupt the show’s release, but we’re back! Before we get into the discussion of whether Villa have been advancing on the pitch like results seems to indicate, in the next episode, this current episode covers a few items that have happen off the pitch in recent weeks.
MOMS is once again joined by Dan of the The Villa Underground for insight and laughs over a half-hour show.
Crazy Villa Park Improvements
A few weeks ago Villa owner Tony Xia tweeted Villans asking them for ideas of how to improve the Villa Park match day experience. An ever-changing demographic due to an increase in ticket prices, mass marketing and television, has certainly dampened the atmosphere, but also seemingly twisted what some fans want on a match day.
We discuss some of the standout suggestions of fans: Cheerleaders. Adult mascots. Wi-fi. Beer on the terraces. A swearing ban and more.
We also discuss Villa owner’s reality check of what running a football club is all about, as his early bravado on social media turns to the reality of another season in the Championship. We’re calling it his white flag tweet.
Aston’s finest Black Sabbath have played their last ever gig, finishing their final tour in their Birmingham heartland, we salute Ozzie and the boys.
David Beckham pulling his knighthood strop got the My Old Man Said podcast thinking what Villans would deserve a knighthood and how you’d honour them.
Do Villa reallly have any excuses for this season compared to some of the other clubs in the league?
Plus a whole lot more.
