Aston Villa supporter Alex Davis is fast becoming the Stock Aitken and Waterman of Villa supporter songs, as he has penned another potential Villa supporter hit with ‘Rudy’ a song for Villa’s new striker Rudy Gestede.

Alex’s popular song for the departed Christian Benteke based on the Lion Sleeps Tonight , sadly had to be removed from the supporter songbook due to the Belgian striker’s departure, but you can’t keep a good man down and his Rudy Gestede song is perhaps even better than his first song.

The song is inspired by the Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘Ruby’, their first ever UK number one single. The track was the lead single off the Kaiser Chiefs’ second album Yours Truly, Angry Mob which came out in 2007.

 

 

There’s certainly some tidy lyric conversation by Alex of the Kaiser’s original song (love the salmon line!), now lets hope Rudy Gestede starts to bag a few goals in to live up to his new song and give Villa fans a chance to belt out some Kaiser Chiefs from the stands.

  4. seems a good song but to encourate him would not the old ska classic “A message to you Rudy” not be more appropriate? SPecial AKA based on a ska classic of the 60s
