#67 How Aston Villa Shape up as They Enter the End Game of the Season

Brace yourself. We’re in the end game now.

A month ago, we were pretty much waving the white flag on the 2018/19 season, judging from what we were seeing on the pitch. But then Jack ‘Sir Lancelot’ Grealish came riding back into our lives and everything seemed to click into gear for the Villa team.

The goal rush returned, as did the added bonus of clean sheets.

So, four wins later, here we are now, the Villa flag buried into the top six of the table ready to make the play-off territory ours come the end of the season.

In the latest MOMS podcast we look at the run-in ahead, the teams who may be Villa’s most serious challengers for a play-off spot and then in the play-offs themselves, if we make it.

Will Boro hang on? Can Preston carry on their impressive surge? Can Derby County (aka ‘Frank Lampard’s Derby’) hold it together? Are Bristol City going to get beaten down by their fixture load?

Is there any play-off scenario Villa should be wary of? West Brom over two legs? Leeds at Wembley? Or are Villa now truly a team with no fear?

We discuss it all.

Also. we look at the Blues minus nine points situation, Villa’s goalkeeper situation, which gets more complicated as each week passes, plus, there’s some talk of pineapple heads and lots, lots more.

Please do support the show (see below), if you can, as we want to build something that is even better for like-minded Villans.

  1. If we do make the play offs and have no significant injuries I would not fear West Brom or Leeds, our fully fit first team is better than what either of those two can offer. Not being biased, we genuinely are in my opinion.
Throw a couple of significant injuries into the mix & it could go either way.
