Villa Fast-tracked

It could be argued that Aston Villa’s 3-0 win away at Arsenal was a more complete performance than their earlier 7-2 battering of Liverpool. From front to back, Dean Smith’s men were almost perfect, with captain Jack Grealish conducting matters and terrorising the Arsenal backline with Ross Barkley and Ollie Watkins his willing accomplices.

The football world are starting to take note of this fast-tracked Villa revolution and even the bigger media outlets are acknowledging it and in Ian Wright’s case, getting a tad excited.

Despite recent back-to-back defeats, based on some of the team’s stellar victories already this season, including beating two of the current top three in the division, Villa are in for an interesting season.

While Villa supporters disappointingly didn’t have a chance to witness the resounding 3-0 win against Arsenal in person, the My Old Man Said podcast certainly tried to capture the mood of the victory and lift spirits with the latest offering of episode 121, which has received really great feedback so far from listeners.

From the ‘Le Facking Intro’, to making a podcast porno ‘The 50 Shades of Grealish’ from a Guardian match report and sharing our personal experiences of John Travolta, after Ian Wright compared Villa to Travolta in Saturday Night Fever, the show continues to break the norm.

As well as the usual proper analysis, insight, fun and frolics, we also look at more serious issues like PPV, Premier League Rules, Marcus Rashford’s good work off the pitch and catch up with the latest Villa happenings.

Former Villa and England international striker Darius Vassell gets the Underrated or Overrated treatment.

If you’ve got a sense of humour and don’t like your Villa to be Vanilla, and haven’t got on board with listening yet…

NOW. IS. THE. TIME.

  1. I think without doubt far and away the best team performance for years, brilliant to a man. It’s a great pity that the media seem intent on spoiling things, we need to keep this team together but now they are harping about Man City and them coming in for Luiz in January personally that would be really bad form to break up our team mid term, maybe we should buy them out, and now we constantly here that Lampard wants Barkley back but he’s enjoying himself with us and no one has mentioned that he may well request a transfer as for sure he will be a bench warmer at Chelsea..
We’re on our way getting better every game, we should not let anything get in our way.
