In a topsy-turvey season where, apart from the unbeaten Liverpool, most of the teams seem to be capable of beating each other. For the teams with aspirations of survival, it’s simply a case of getting points where you can.
Going into the trip to Bramall Lane ,Villa’s single point from their two tough trips to Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge will be satisfactory enough, considering they had only claimed points from one away fixture this season.
Getting beat by Leicester City was half-expected, considering they currently are the only realistic threat to Liverpool’s title ambitions and now have notched up eight wins on the trot.
The point against United should certainly give the Villa players confidence for the rest of the season. While the media and some United fans play fickle with Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, the facts are United have won against Manchester City, Chelsea, Leicester, Tottenham and drew against Arsenal and Liverpool.
So, it was a decent point and proof that Villa are good enough to increase their points haul away from home.

Aston Villa Turn Premier League Corner in Breaking Old Trafford Hoodoo
If there’s one team that Aston Villa have a terrible record against it’s Manchester United. Inspired by a Jack Grealish stunner, they bucked the trend of recent visits to Old Trafford to gain a positive result and a shot of confidence for the rest of the season.
The MOMS podcast team return to discuss life after the well-earned point in Manchester, where Grealish grabbed centre stage after dazzling David de Gea. Life will be different from now on for the Villa captain.

Me too the next three games are key, nothing short of nine points will do, we talk our team up constantly but our defence is non existent and our forwards can’t score, I think that is relegation talk, The odd individual good performance is just not good enough at this standard I didn’t expect us to win the league but we have to make ourselves difficult to beat and survive for this season.

David is spot on, I couldn’t agree more why we didn’t sign Maupay is a complete mystery and a massive mistake. Also agree that Mings is not cutting it since his England debut, so yes Hause for me and on a personal note as soon as Davis is fit i think we should drop Wesley Let’s be honest we could give someone else a go upfront now i can’t see that we have anything to loose.
Brighton got Maupay for £16 million while we paid £22 million for Wesley, why when Maupay had played for Smith and was a known quantity?
A top class proven striker, Mitrovic IMO a more mobile energetic player is what we need, and as much as we all like Mings, he has not really performed since his England., and was responsible for two of the goals against Leicester he needs to revert to the no nonsense player that wowed the fans he now tries to much to impress with clever touches that are not working and should not have played on last week when injured. Chance now for Hause to step up.
Just one other suggestion, our board and manager say they are looking for a winger, why not go in for one of the best players that we let go Albrighton I think he would come back.
If we don’t sign a quality proven goal scorer in January the second half of the season s a potential disaster, statistics say it all Wesley is not good enough for the PL and if we don’t give this top priority there’s only one direction for us, sorry to be negative but our league position tells the story.
