André Villas Boas Confirms Sanson is Heading to Aston Villa

Sanson Given Green Light

Under pressure Marseille boss André Villas Boas admitted in the press conference that followed Marseille’s 3-1 weekend loss to Monaco, that Morgan Sanson had been allowed to leave for Aston Villa.

“Sanson didn’t have the courage to play, since the club decided to let him go,” said Villas Boas at the press conference, after Marseille slumped to a third defeat in a row for the first time since 2015.

“I asked Morgan if he was up for the game,”, added, the Marseille coach. “He said, ‘this is hard for me.’ So I told him I was taking him out of the game. And then he left the game and the club allowed him to leave for Villa “

It’s been reported in France that the 26-year-old French midfielder is expected to undertake his medical in the next 48 hours in the lead up to his £14m move (potentially rising to £15.5m) to Villa.

Meanwhile, Dean Smith, while not naming Sanson, admitted that there was a deal being done on a player in his post-match interview following Villa’s 2-0 win against Newcastle at Villa Park.

  1. i personally believe that he will take barkelys place as chelsea are pricing him too high, he will get half a season to bed in and hopefully we will see the best off him next season

  2. Go along with the signing but hard to see where he will fit in, seems like we have plenty of excellent midfield cover, a striker would have been good as cover for Ollie Watkins,
Good result yesterday not far away from safety which is great news.
