Aston Villa Accountability on and off the Pitch Examined

My Old Man Said Podcast – Episode 145

A 2-2 draw at Villa Park against West Brom, while not the greatest result, saw Keinan Davis’s first Premier League goal and the long-awaited return of Wesley. Although the game was against a bottom three team, Villa returned to being a team that could at least create chances, but the game again raised the season-long question, are Villa’s substitutions proactive enough?

Meanwhile, off the pitch, Villa’s yearly accounts were published and the court case began of two police PC’s in relation to their liability in relation to the death of former Villa striker Dalian Atkinson. Elsewhere, there was differing fortunes for both Villa’s Women and Youth teams.

Outside of Villa, we welcome familiar faces back to the Premier League, look at referees taking liberties with the 90 minutes of the game, and look at Bayern Munich’s approach to manager compensation.

In Overrated or Underrated we look at Pep Guardiola’s invisible captain, who used to play for Villa.
