United Away Cup Tickets Availability
Aston Villa know a thing a two about playing Manchester United in cup games over recent years, drawing the Red Devils is getting as frequent as Christmas or your birthday. When it comes to cup trips to Old Trafford, judging what allocation to accept is always a tricky one for the club.
Villa will always fill the standard 3,000 allocation, which is the usual corner section that away fans have been placed at Old Trafford in recent years, but the next allocation possibility is over twice as much, as the club have to take entire blocks.
With Villa vs United games normally being broadcast live on TV, that also potentially affects the potential demand for away tickets.
Villa have tended to play it safe requesting a lower allocation, but for the forthcoming third round of the League Cup they rolled the dice and got a 7,500 allocation, even though the game is 8pm kick-off on a Thursday night…and live on Sky Sports.
Villa had passed the 4,000 sales mark during the Season Ticket Holders window, so with blocks being released one-by-one, it looks like there’s at least two blocks left of circa 2,000 tickets, approaching the Members window on Monday. You’d think that there will be at least some availability when it gets to General Sale towards the end of the week.
With both teams in transition and trying to get it together this season, both will potentially field strong teams, as every game will be helpful in finding a rhythm, after stuttering starts to the season. With this in mind, for Villans desperate for that elusive away day experience, a trip to Old Trafford for a one-off cup game is as good as it gets.
