Aston Villa December Fixture Shake Up
After football supporters had rebelled against the ill-judged Premier League £14.95 pay-per-view initiative, the Premier League stakeholders agreed to dismiss it and make all additional fixtures until the end of December, free to air to existing Sky, BT or Amazon packages, with games granted to the BBC too.
Villa were perhaps short changed initially with their home fixture against Newcastle, being brought forward to a Friday in the same week they play West Ham on the Monday before. Couldn’t another date be found to avoid two weekday fixtures?
Another notable change sees Villa’s West Midlands’ derby away to West Bromwich on Sunday evening at 7.15pm. Sunday night football has brought Villa some magical results this season, topped off with the 7-2 win against Liverpool. Villa would certainly love going into Christmas with their away winning record still at 100%. OK, it’s long shot, but if they beat West Ham and then Wolves, you’d fancy it against the Baggies on the 20th.

Watching Villa on terrestrial TV. Villa will host Crystal Palace at Villa on Boxing Day at 3pm on the BBC. A rare genuinely free unpirated game. Let’s hope Dean Smith’s men serve up a fest of football.
