With Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper receiving a new contract ahead of Aston Villa’s visit to the City Ground, and Steven Gerrard now three games unbeaten, the title of the Midlands clash being a potential ‘El Sackio’ has long faded.

With Leon Bailey injured, Steven Gerrard has elected to start Emi Buendia and Philippe Coutinho for the first time this season – why has it taken so long? Meanwhile Matty Cash returns to the starting line-up, as Ashley Young switches to left-back to cover Villa’s double injury situation in that position.
