Aston Villa Loan Out Winger to Championship Club and Extend Player’s Contract

Jaden Philogene-Bidace Gets Season-long Loan Deal

After returning back from the Australian preseason tour, Steven Gerrard and his team have got to work in cutting down what he labelled a “bloated squad”, while doing press down under.

While we’ve already seen Wesley depart for Levante over the weekend, the next to leave the club is Jaden Philogene-Bidace, who has joined Cardiff City on season-long, as well as signing a contract extension with Villa.

The 20-year-old winger will be looking to build on the experience he gained last season in the Championship while on loan to Stoke City, where he made 11 appearances and scored a goal.

After being part of the Australian preseason squad, Philogene-Bidace was always likely to go out on loan in what will be a pivotal season for him. With a contract extension and a full season in the Championship, the ball is very much in his court now to impress.

After the Bluebirds finished in the lower half of the Championship table last season, you’d think Philogene-Bidace will get the necessary game time to develop and impress Gerrard.

He certainly showed in his Villa debut as a late substitute against Tottenham Hotspur back in May 2021 and Villa’s cup games last season, there’s hope for him.
