After the Yeovil game a disgruntled Steve Bruce was visibly disappointed by the performance of his Villa team despite their 1-0 win in the first round of the League Cup at Yeovil.
“We got away with it,” the Villa boss concluded.
Villa to be fair haven’t been convincing in any of their games so far this season, but the good news is they’ve won all of them, while still finding their feet.
Bruce also hinted that supporters could see some new faces in on loan before the loan window shuts at the end of the month.
“We’ve got one or two things in the fire” – an unhappy Bruce post Yeovil, talking about possible loans. #AVFC

Considering the position where most of us forecast the club could be now, just a few weeks ago, winning the opening two league games (for the first time since 1999) and progressing in the cup, is as good as it gets.
The latest episode (48) of the MOMS podcast looks back at meeting in person the new owners, who helped turned everything around. It also looks at how we kept Jack Grealish, the players we managed to buy at the end of the transfer window, and the performances of the new boys and the team so far this season.
