Aston Villa Make Inspired Choice for Villa Park Entrance Song

Awesome news

There’s always been a bit of an issue to what song the team should come out to at Villa Park, since Villa don’t really have a theme song that has been universally embraced. There was a recent push for ‘The Bells are Ringing Claret and Blue’ to be adopted as the anthem and played at the start of games, also the club used to have a weekly internet poll for fans to choose the song for Villa to enter the pitch to.

This preseason the club made it their prime focus to find a song to finally solve the problem. Maybe it had been the reason Villa’s home form had been so bad?

The good news is a song has been found!

Living our dream

The song was discovered in an unlikely place, when a member of the Villa staff visited the cinema. On hearing the song in he middle of a film, it was immediately apparent the song was made to be heard at Villa Park. Weeks later, the club were negotiating an exclusive royalty usage deal with Warner Bros, who had commissioned the writing of it for a recent popular box office hit

Villa chairman Randy Lerner went on record as saying, “The song perfectly captures the current mood at the club and I think fans will quickly embrace it as the Villa theme song for now and for the future”.

The club were waiting until the first home game against Newcastle to unveil it, but here at MOMS, after getting a tip off  we could’t resist sharing the news:

‘Everything is Awesome’ – it’s perfect.

First of all, it reflects the feelings of those Villa fans who always criticise fellow supporters for being ‘negative’, ‘fickle’ and ‘moaning’ when those supporters are questioning what is happening at the club. Why question? Why want more from your club? Everything is awesome!

Imagine once those eight rogue Lion’s Club chairman hear the song, they will straightaway want to sign the Code of Conduct they initially refused to.

Everything is awesome, when we’re living our dream

AVFC feedback

The song has already been tested on various Villa players to see what they thought. Alan Hutton liked it so much, he turned down a move to the Baggies. After one listen, Darren Bent shelved all plans to move to the Turkish league. Ron Vlaar, it’s rumoured, after listening to just 30 seconds of the song, agreed in principle to sign a new five-year contract at Villa.

Everything is Awesome lyrics

Everything is awesome Everything is cool when you’re part of a team

Everything is awesome, when we’re living our dream

Everything is better when we stick together Side by side, you and I gonna win forever, let’s party forever

We’re the same, I’m like you, you’re like me, we’re all working in harmony

Everything is awesome Everything is cool when you’re part of a team

Everything is awesome, when we’re living our dream.

Departing Villa CEO Paul Faulkner, has also praised the song:

“The lyrics are spot on and very fitting to what we achieved during my time at Villa,” he allegedly said. “I mean how many other teams in Premier League history have managed to survive relegation after getting 38 points twice? There were times during the last season we really where working in harmony and living our dream!”

A Venglos View is a satirical (and sometimes surreal) look at the Villa.

PS – If I had the time, I would have made a stop-frame animation video with a Lego version of Paul Lambert, Roy Keane and Randy Lerner to go with the song.

  1. villa are a surreal club, badly run, with an owner who can’t sell the club, no CEO and no money, slated by most bookies to go down.

If people on this site think that it is a club to make jokes about and there is a consistent thread of trying to make funnies about the situation, it makes it impossible to take anything said here as credible.

Supporting a football club is never going to be a bundle of fun, and genuine satire about how bad villa is and why we are becoming a national laughing stock would be very welcome. But Jonathan Swift is not on offer. Instead we consistently have school playground humour which is neither good satire or even a welcome relief to the insanity at board level.

Off to see the Parma game and hope for a result. Even some understanding of the clubs plight.

  2. With intelligence like theirs and that unerring ability to say exactly the wrong thing at the wrong time some of the people commenting on this would be perfect candidates for roles on Villas board.

Christ it even says at the bottom of the article it’s a joke!

  3. I hope this is simply another case of MOMS thinking every day is April 1st.

Luckily I have ear plugs I can bring along. Do we EVER get a voice in ANYTHING at Villa? If this really does get played, lets sing something football related drown it out, Even Abide with Me.

I feel like scrooge and Christmas is still 4 and a half months ago.

In fact given the club plight and the fact we are playing parma tomorrow, how about It’s Now Or Never? Good old Italian song, Mario Lanza and Elvis Presley, it has pedigree.
