Aston Villa Player List 2014/15

After scrambling the loan signing of Tom Cleverley over the line, Villa had until 5pm on Wednesday 3rd September to submit their squad list of 25 that contained no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the “Home Grown Player” (HGP) criteria.

A Home Grown Player – as defined by the Premier League – is a player who: (a) is 21 or older on January 1 of the year in which that season begins; and (b) spent three years between the ages of 16 and 21 with a team in the English football League system.

Below is the full list of the squad that will be representing Villa this season, although changes can be made in the January transfer window.

Also below are Villa’s registered Under-21 players who are eligible over and above the squad limit of 25 players – a list that Jack Grealish qualifies for.

Perhaps the most fun derived from the list is seeing some of the player’s middle names, which  may be interesting new knowledge for some fans. For example, Bradley Edwin Guzan, Ashley Roy Westwood, and probably our favourite, Ron Peter Vlaar! UTV
