My Old Man Said – New Aston Villa Podcast

Finally…

MOMS has been meaning to put out a podcast show for a season or two now. Lack of time has been one issue, the dire state of the club also put it on the backburner somewhat. After all, why deepen one’s football depression by spending even more time talking (or listening) about Villa. Then there was the issue of we don’t want to do anything for the sake of it or do anything run of the mill.

We decided to go with the name ‘My Old Man Said’ as it probably suits an Aston Villa podcast even better than a Villa website!

Extra Fun

Rather than the standard of format of people just talking, we decided to have more fun with the format and put on more of a show for Villa supporters. In terms of frequency, the aim is to put the show out weekly with potential occasional bonus extra ‘outtake’ shows.

You can listen and subscribe for free to the My Old Man Said Aston Villa podcast show on iTunes / Soundcloud / Tunein / Acast

Instrumental to the show’s format is Dan Rogers from the Villa Underground joining us and collaborating on some fun stuff. In the more ‘traditional podcast’ part of the show, MOMS David Michael and Chad Wrenn will chat with Dan on all issues Aston Villa.

We’re looking forward to see how we can develop the show over the season ahead and hope you’ll be with us for that journey.

First Episode of Podcast

In the first episode of the My Old Man Said podcast, David, Dan and Chad discuss the summer takeover, Di Matteo’s squad rebuilding process, player in’s and out’s, and preview Aston Villa’s first ever ‘Championship’ season.

There’s also an audio version of Five Reasons to be Cheerful as Villa Fans for the season ahead and also you can hear Villa owner’s Tony Xia’s Tweets as never before in ‘Twitter with Tony’, not to mention appearances by two departed Americans and a Frenchman.

We hope you enjoy it, and if you do, please support the show by liking it on soundcloud or giving it lots of nice stars on itunes and reviewing it, all of which will help support it and build awareness of it.

Also, if you have an ideas for the show or anything you want us to discuss on it, feel free to get in touch. There maybe even a chance of appearing on the show if you’re keen, further down the line. Also, if you’re a musician or are in a band, give us a shout as we’re always interested in featuring music.
