Aston Villa Sky Sports Coverage Triggers Run-in Changes

Aston Villa on Sky Sports

Two of Aston Villa’s final three fixtures were been confirmed for Sky Sports TV, taking the tally of Villa’s matches screened by Sky Sports post-restart to seven of the nine announced so far. The final game of the season at West Ham still to be confirmed.

Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final date with Manchester City has pushed their trip to Villa Park, back to July 21st from the original 18th July date. While this will give Villa less chance to prepare for their final game against West Ham, it should give them an advantage against the Gunners in terms of rest.

Villa’s earlier game against Everton has been moved to Thursday from it’s originally slated Wednesday evening slot.

These fixtures though may become academic unless Villa pick up points pronto though. West Ham showed with their win against Chelsea, that they are capable of getting points from their easier looking remaining fixture list. While Watford showed over the winter with wins against Wolves, Manchester United and Liverpool, they have it in them to beat anyone, if they can find their mojo again.

Villa’s toothless displays since the restart have supporters understandably concerned. With only six games left, it would be in their interests to get something out of the upcoming daunting duo of fixtures against Liverpool and Manchester United, to have a chance in the final run-in.
