Aston Villa Striker Finally Leaves on Loan to Reboot Career

Keinan Davis Loaned to Forest

The first piece of business has been completed by Aston Villa in the 2020 January transfer with Keinan Davis joining Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old striker has had previous loan moves thwarted due to injury (mostly recently to Stoke City) and has since fallen down the pecking order on the Villa bench, due to the emergence of Cameron Archer.

Davis has only mustered a single substitute appearance for Villa this season and despite a total of 86 first-team appearances has ultimately failed to impress on a consistent level. Injuries certainly haven’t helped him, coming at times when Villa had only one fit striker and opportunity knocked for Davis.

With his strength and an ability to hold the ball well and bring teammates into play, Davis should prove an asset for a Forest team who still harbour ambitions of a Championship play-off spot.

If Davis stays fit, then it’s a loan move that may define his career, although ultimately, it’s likely he’ll leave Villa in the summer.
