Aston Villa’s Changing Culture and Need for Improved Resolve

Aston Villa Find Increased Resolve Against Foxes

“I only look forward and I only look up,” declared a bullish Steven Gerrard, ahead of the Norwich City game, but his mood may have been a little different, if Villa didn’t pick up an important point away at Leicester City last weekend.

The Foxes point, was Aston Villa’s first away draw of the season and will potentially go down as one of the more pivotal points in Steven Gerrard’s managerial career so far.

It averted a fifth consecutive loss, which would have set up the prospect of former manager Dean Smith coming to Villa Park this weekend with the opportunity to deliver a damaging blow to his successor.

Gerrard will certainly take heart from the resolve his team showed at Leicester, as they go into a game, which if they win, could relegate Smith’s Norwich City (if Burnley also beat Watford).
