Aston Villa’s Current Situation is Serious as the Omens Aren’t Good

Life After the Postponed El Sackio for Gerrard and Villa

Aston Villa have won just one of their past 10 Premier League games and have lost 10 of their last 17 games. If those stats don’t make you think the situation is serious enough, then their record of four defeats in six games this season, should give you a squeaky bum. Villa were relegated in each of the past three seasons in which they lost five or more of their opening seven leagues games. So, if the Saints win at Villa Park, then according to this trend, Villa could potentially be revisiting the Championship sooner than they had expected.

After Aston Villa’s trip to Leicester City was called off due to the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, in episode 202 of the My Old Man Said podcast, we look at how the next month or so may shape up for Villa now. What kind of time frame will Steven Gerrard being given to improve Villa’s fortunes? Will the Qatar World Cup tempt clubs to depart with their managers? With new appointments having a potential six weeks period to get their feet under the table before the January transfer window.

We also look at Graham Potter’s move from Brighton to Chelsea, as well as catching up with the Villa news and Media Muppets.
