You know the routine…Villa don’t win again, so here’s still five reasons to be cheerful as Villa fans.
This time after a 0-0 draw with Middlesbrough, a team who were a man down for a full hour.
1. Unbeaten Run
Front tiny acorns grow mighty oaks…or hopefully promotion seasons. The draw against Boro was five unbeaten in all competitions. Yes, you don’t need to tell me that we now need wins instead of draws to impose ourselves on the league.
Everytime you draw at home, it helps to then win away…
2. JK’S Back
MOMS isn’t completely convinced that the often selfish Kodjia is the full stop solution to Villa’s attacking woe. After all, he scored 19 goals last season and Villa still finished in the bottom half.
Villa need to develop as a team to ultimately be successful, but in the last couple of games a fully fit and firing Kodjia would have perhaps snatched us a win, so his cameo last night was very welcome.
3. Onamoh’s Knock
Villa’s Spurs loanee Josh Onomah has been very promising in terms of his positive passing and running with the ball. How they could have done with him against Boro.
While Andre Green maybe out for a few months, luckily Onomah hasn’t done a ‘Jemaine Jenas’ and should be fit for Saturday.
4. Blues Blues
I’m personally not too bothered at this stage, but the fact that the Blues are currently in the relegation zone will currently help some Villa fans get to sleep at night. It also bides Bruce a little bit of time.
Some fans may not have noticed yet, but Wolves have got their act together and currently lie fourth in the league. Alarm bells will start to ring a lot louder though once Redknapp gets his 34 new signings from the summer window bedded down.
You’d expect the Blues to then rise, hopefully though Villa will have already risen.
If the Blues move above Villa and Bruce is still messing around in the bottom half of the table, then it will only heighten fan’s discontent with him.
5. FCG
The Fan Consultation Group meeting with Villa CEO Keith Wyness and co, before the Boro game, was an open and interesting discussion on a few of the key club and supporter issues of recent months.
We discussed the teething issue of the new rewards system, the Chinese Government situation with overseas investment in relation to Villa, ‘the Villa Engine’, booking fees, the issues with stadium expansion, the impact of the Commonwealth Games, getting better deals on trains, painting the Witton Train Station bridge and much more.
Once again, this is good practice by the club maintaining this consultation group, as not many other club’s supporters enjoy the same set up.

After watching the wholematch on AVTV I have 2 comments both relating to the ref
1) I think Villa need to start to wear tops that do fall apart @ seams when opponents try to rip them off !
2 ) we should have had 2 penmalties in 1st half
i) when Davis got dragged backwards when taking shot on goal
ii) when keeper pulled Lansbury down after failing to clear ball which Lansbury pounced on & only needed to turn to score
