Jack Grealish Walks Suspension Tightrope for Blues Game

Jack Grealish Suspension Danger

The big games come thick and fast now for Aston Villa and the intensity will rise, but the improving Jack Grealish, knows that one more yellow card in any of Villa’s next three games will see him facing a one-game suspension.

With Villa playing 16 games already this season, Grealish is now three games away from reaching the safe ground of 19 league games, where the penalty for five yellow cards vanishes.

Villa’s next match, the trip to Derby, which is a big game in terms of getting Villa focused back on the promotion path, puts Grealish in the position of knowing that if he picks up a caution, it will see him miss the Second City derby at Villa Park, after the international break.

It’s obviously a match, that the Villa fan would prefer not to miss. Not only for the local rivalry, but also as he is making progress under Dean Smith, as the Villa Head Coach has actively employed him further up the pitch to make Grealish more of a threat to the opposition in the final third.

In the next three games, don’t be surprised to see Grealish being subbed, if Villa are comfortably a head in games in the final stages, like he was against Bolton.

Other Suspension Dangers

John McGinn’s all-action style perhaps not surprisingly made him the only Villa player to fall foul of the five yellow card one-game suspension this season, so far this season.

Apart from Grealish, the only other Villa player who is in danger of troubling the rule is Alan Hutton, who has picked up three yellow cards this season.

Villa’s game at Villa Park on Wednesday 28th November against Nottingham Forest will be their 19th game, when the five yellow card rule is rescinded for the season.

  1. Welcome to the mainstream fascism. One little critisism against their opinion, and blocked! Well done for a fan based page ….. I do suppose that you walk away from any conversations that you encounter, in every day life as well? …. [a bit weird i think]

    • What are you talking about? I’ve got no idea what you’re referring to… Nobody ever got blocked for their opinion…only persistent assholes and idiots get blocked, but luckily we don’t attract many of them.
