Aston Villa Sky TV Fixtures

Sky TV today announced its live fixtures for the months of August and September. It’s the first real sample of how Villa will be serviced in terms of live games in the Championship. So far, we’re on an average of two games a month on the box. Not the greatest news for season ticket holders, who might have to change their plans, but overseas supporters will no doubt be happy and grateful to see Villa regularly on TV whilst in the Championship.

After already announcing that the season opener away at Sheffield Wednesday will be screened live on Sunday August 7th at 16.30, instead of the opening Saturday slot, three further Villa games have been announced for live TV coverage by Sky.

Aston Villa Sky TV Fixtures

Saturday 20th August (17.30pm) – Derby County vs Aston Villa

Sunday 11th September (1.15pm) – Aston Villa vs Nottingham Forest

Saturday 24th September (5.30pm) – Aston Villa vs Newcastle United

Season Ticket Holders Alert

Aston Villa season ticket holders will have a further change of date due to the shift in the Nottingham Forest game being put back a day. As a result, Villa’s home clash with Brentford will switch from a Tuesday night to a Wednesday, on September 14 – kick-off 7.45pm.

It must be noted that some of these changes are being made with only four weeks to go to the original fixture.

Question…Why can’t the first batch of Sky TV games be announced when the fixtures first come out? That way there would be no need for date changes for the August and September televised games, so at least there would be decrease in the disruption season ticket holders of all clubs suffer due to date and time changes.

MOMS understand various parties have to be involved like the police and club reps in arranging the TV dates, but surely a system can be put in place to shore up the initial TV dates up before the release of the fixture list?

Let us know your thoughts and if the fixture changes were ok or not ok for you.
