New Contract for Aston Villa Striker Kills Dead Speculation

Signing on the Dotted Line

The club announced today that 19-year-old striker Keinan Davis has committed to a new contract in a new three-year deal until 2020.

As MOMS reported earlier, numerous newspaper stories were starting to circulate about other club interest in the player, due to the current state of his contract. While most supporters would have to win big on Betfair android to match the reported £2000-a-week Davis was on, for a regular first team starter the amount would be regarded as very low compared to most of his teammates. Understandably, his agent had been negotiating an improved contract with the club with several weeks now.

It’s good news for supporters that the club have finally agreed terms with Davis, as the youngster has been a revelation this season for Villa.

Top Ranking

Davis appeared high up in the Top 10 of the MOMS Aston Villa Power Rankings so far this season, due to his impressive rise to the first team.

“It’s a great feeling to have signed a new contract,” he said, via the club’s website.

“This is another milestone for me this season: I had my first start and my full league debut then an international call-up and this is another one.

“The hard work continues, now. I’ve got to keep working and reach that next milestone.”

It’s certainly good to have the youngster fully focused on his game now, considering the injuries to Jonathan Kodjia and Scott Hogan.

Looking back a couple of years ago, when Davis was rejected by Stevenage and had to join Biggleswade, Davis has certainly proved a lot of people wrong. From watching a few of his games in the Villa U-23’s, even MOMS has been surprised by his rapid rise with his performance against Norwich smashing any preconceptions of the player.

Improvement

There’s is still room for improvement as a striker, as you’d expect.

While Davis has impressed with his link-up play, his agression and his intelligent running, the striker has been unlucky at times with his finishing, hitting the woodwork several times.

Once his fortunes in front of goal improves, we could really have a player on our hands.
