In a climate where most football supporters are regarded as consumers and most football media is just clickbait and ‘churnalism’, you’re helping me stay independent and focused on keeping Villa supporters front and centre of everything MOMS does.
Your support is very much appreciated and inspires My Old Man Said to be the most original and principled provider of claret and blue content and stay above the standard vanilla and beige type coverage of the club. Not only that, but you help MOMS remain as one of the best supporter-focused football websites in the country.
Having MOMS Patrons is a way of being increasingly supporter-funded to keep the focus on you and not advertisers and the usual trappings of football sites.
My Old Man Said has been a wild journey over the past five years or so, and it’s been successful in getting supporters more and more involved in the decision-making processes at the club.
For too long Villa’s main asset, it’s supporters, were overlooked and taken for granted by the club, but it’s been great to see there has been big positive steps in the past season or so.
In the overall plan of making Aston Villa successful again, supporter engagement is key and has big benefits for the club. It’s something that we’ll ensure Villa always keep up.
