Five Reasons to be Cheerful as a Villa Fan…As Rot Is Stopped vs Swansea

We have to build the football club as well as get results. I have a lot of faith in what I’m doing and I won’t deviate from it.” – Paul Lambert

Unlucky not to be three points after Swansea’s injury-time equaliser, but any Villa fan should be happy with stopping of the recent rot…

1. It’s 2013 and not 2012. In 2013, Villa are unbeaten.

2. Important time to start the rot, as it rebuilds confidence ahead of the rest of January’s fixtures which will define Villa’s season. Ipswich (H), Bradford (A), Saints (H), WBA (A), Bradford (H), Newcastle (H). If we stay unbeaten and win most of these games, all will be good.

3. The Benteke and Weimann show continues. It’s turning into a proper partnership with the two of them capable of creating goals and assists out of nothing. I just wish we had a proper playmaker in midfield to help them out further.

4. Results went with Villa today, prompting Villa to move up the league. Next league game vs Southampton will be huge.

5. First on MOTD. Go 2013! So potential for an early night or it frees up time to slip a late night film in there before sleeping.
