The Cavalry Arrives: Key Aston Villa Players Return for Europa League Push

Aston Villa Boosted by Quartet’s Return

The return of Matty Cash, Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho, and Leon Bailey to training this week is a massive boost for Aston Villa in their final four games of the Premier League season.

Brighton, who have looked impressive in the past week – with their 6-0 win over Wolves, followed by a last-gasp 1-0 win against Manchester United – have now leaped above Villa in the Premier League table by one point, with two games in hand.

After losing their 10-game unbeaten run to Manchester United at Old Trafford and slipping to eighth in the table, the returning players will feel like the cavalry is arriving for the final push, both for the team and supporters alike.

Unai Emery will now evaluate each player’s fitness over the next 24 hours to determine whether they can be included in the squad for the game at Molineux.

Emery’s Press Conference Comments

During a pre-match media conference on Friday, Emery stated, “We are gradually adding players to the squad to be ready for tomorrow. Coutinho started training on Monday, Kamara and Leon on Wednesday, and Matty Cash started training with the group yesterday.”

He continued, “Of course, for tomorrow, after their injuries and being out for some weeks, they could be in the squad to play. We are going to analyze the last 24 hours before the match, with the possibility of adding them to be involved in the game, with some possibilities to play.”

Since the players have been out for several weeks in some cases, it’s unlikely any of them will start. However, Emery will hope that those who make the bench get some minutes to prepare them for a huge upcoming home clash against Spurs, especially if Villa can get three points at Molineux.
