Trinity Road Upper Likely to Open for Villa Christmas Fixture

Trinity Road Upper For Xmas

Aston Villa announced today that the Trinity Road Upper ‘could be open for the visit of Sheffield United’ which takes place on Saturday December 23, kick-off 5.30pm.

Ticket sales for the fixture are reported by the club to currently be at 31k with the club declaring they are ‘on the verge of making a positive decision on the top tier’.

Traditionally gates around the Christmas period are offered a boost by supporters visiting the area to see their families for festive period.

Last season, a Boxing Day crowd of 41,337 (including the opened Trinity Road Upper) saw Ross McCormack score the winner in a 2-1 win against Burton Albion, and you’d think that with both United and Villa contesting the promotion spots, another crowd between 36,000 and 40,000 mark could be expected.

Certainly the pre-Christmas Villa Park gate would receive a big boost if Villa pick up three points against Derby at the weekend.

  1. Couple of things that I don’t understand, why doesn’t Bruce give O’Hare a start or even as a sub, also all this talk and nonsense about Johnson and Man U implementing his additional 12 month clause, we read that he wants to stay with us so why doesn’t he put in a transfer request. It all beggars belief to me
