Villa Park Date Change for Match in Mid-Season Player Break Period

Spurs TV Switch

If you weren’t aware already, Aston Villa’s home fixture with Spurs this season has been switched from its original Saturday date on February 8th to 14.00 on Sunday 16th February. The match will now be screened live on Sky TV.

The announcement had originally been delayed to factor in Premier League teams progressing to the knockout stages of UEFA club competitions, which were announced on Monday 16th December, before allocating Premier League fixtures accordingly within the mid-season player break.

The mid-season player break will have the 10 fixtures of Matchweek 26, split across the two weekends of 7-10 February and 14-17 February, 2020.

The break was introduced in June 2018 after discussions with The FA and the EFL regarding the football calendar.

Summary

Aston Villa vs Spurs

  • New kick-off: Sunday 16 February, 14:00
  • Original kick-off: Saturday 8 or 15 February, 15:00
  • Reason for change: Selected for UK live TV broadcast on Sky Sports before allocating Premier League fixtures accordingly within the mid-season player break.
