What’s Aston Villa’s Next Steps in the Summer Transfer Window?

Further Aston Villa Transfer Considerations

The footballing summer holidays are coming to a close. Steven Gerrard will be deflating his inflatable sun lounger and heading to LAX airport (more than likely) to catch a flight back to the UK, to begin the biggest season in his managerial career so far.

The Aston Villa owners will be keen to make this the final transitional season into the new world of Aston Villa football club. In the 2023/24 season, they’ll be a new club crest and a newly expanded Villa Park stadium, but hopefully a team returning to competing in the upper echelons of the Premier League table.

In the latest My Old Man Said podcast episode (listen below), we discuss the next stage of the summer transfer window, after already getting in Diego Carlos, Boubacar Kamara, Philippe Coutinho and Robin Olsen, at the start of the window.

Will Cameron Archer get a place in the Villa match day squad? Will there be a final chance for either Keinan Davis or Wesley, as a fourth striking option? What else do Villa need?

Episode 193 includes:

  • Villa News
    Media Muppets
Three Points – Polish Russian Problems, Peruvian Shamen, English Football Shirts Ban
  • The Villa Striker debate the folly of Ollie Watkins disgruntlement
  • Cameron Archer’s path
  • 4th Striker Option?
  • Midfield Unfinished Business?
One-off return of an old favourite segment
  • And a whole lot more.
